Thru the Lens...

'Thru the Lens...'screened on a set piece that referred to as 'The Mesh'.Made of wire meshing, a projected image stretched over a 20 by 10 foot screen. It was situated at one end of Wollongong's Town Hall with a short film titled Corruption , an experimental film about a missing body in the landscape, screening at the other. 'Thru the Lens...' was made from footage shot documenting Wollongong, from Hill 60 in Port Kembla in the South, along Lawrence Hargrave Drive, travelling North through to Coalcliff and up to Bald Hill. The installaion includes digital maps, aerial shots and local history montages, the subplots examine small areas of political and social interest in the north of the Illawarra for the year 2003.

Two DVD players ran insync over 35 minutes.The image above displays the split screen format, referred to as the 'Mesh',as premiered in Wollongong Town Hall on October 29th 2003.
